Distillery is a boutique design consultancy based in Singapore that focuses on the creation of inspiring quality environments. As its name suggests, ideas that drive its projects are distilled from all that influences, stimulates, and provokes.
Headed by creative director, Matthew Shang, an Australian designer with wide experience with a variety of project types throughout the region, the “Boomerang” interior design concept was born. Creating a restaurant that evoked Australian colours, flavors and palette, detailed deliberation went into the choice of rich and natural finishes, ambient lighting and thematic shapes.
This is exemplified in the concept of the wine cellar. Shaped like a boomerang, the cellar boasts copper pipe cladding. Copper is an evocative material which develops a fantastic patina which only improves with its aging – a fitting analogy for a wine cellar.
